New owners, same amazing experience!

As of December 1st, 2016, new owners, Stephen Ross, Peter Sudermann & Andre Quenneville acquired, and are operating Great Northern Snowcat Skiing, taking over from founder and owner operator Brent McCorquodale. Great Northern Snowcat Skiing is the second oldest snowcat outfit in British Columbia, Canada.  Brent found our location by looking at a snow record in the University of Calgary archives that dated back to the 1800’s.  He chose our particular spot in the Bad Shot range of the Selkirk Mountains for one reason: It snows a tonne every year.

As a regular skier at Great Northern, Stephen kept on coming back for the same reasons you do. The laid-back atmosphere with incredible people, the small group sizes, the après ski experience and not to mention the epic pow. Brent always did things a little differently. There was no counting runs, vertical or watching the clock. It was always about skiing deep powder until the sunlight or guests’ energy runs out. That’s why we love Great Northern and that won’t change.

What is changing is the addition of heli-fishing. We have a wonderful lodge, high mountain adventure expertise and access to some of the most incredible fishing streams in Canada, so it seemed like a natural thing to do.
