The Selkirk Mountain Range, just west of the legendary Bugaboos, is world renowned for helicopter and snowcat skiing. Endless miles of open bowls, a mixture of steep and moderate slopes, and the best tree skiing on Earth combined with an average 1500 cm (600 inches) of snowfall per year, gives Great Northern access to some of the finest deep powder skiing anywhere.

Variety is the spice of deep powder skiing

One of Great Northern's unique assets is the vast expanse of skiing terrain in our tenure — 75 square kilometers in all — all for one group at a time. With powder-laden peaks, bowls, and glades, we have the variety in terrain options to suit not only your ability, but the type of skiing you like best. Whether you're after steep and deep in the trees, or wide open spaces, we'll get you there.

With such variety in slope aspect, wind exposure, elevation, and the character of the skiing terrain, we are able to ski according to the conditions, giving us the ability to find the best snow quality possible each and every day.

We know our snow

Our guides are experienced, full-time professionals who really know the nuances of our area, allowing them to tailor the run selections for the day around the desires of the group, and the best snow.

Thirty years of perfecting the layout of the snowcat roads means the most efficient travel possible through the terrain — less driving, more skiing! Whether you are an expert skier seeking challenging, exciting skiing, or a relative newcomer to the powder experience, we have just what you're looking for.

Martin Malmsten, Sweden
