50 feet of annual snowfall
(Yes, that’s 50 feet)

Selkirk powder is legendary. It’s lighter than you’ll find on the West Coast, and just as deep. We swear it even tastes better. Great Northern Snowcat Skiing gets over 1,500 centimetres (50 feet) of snow most years, covering Mount Thompson and Great Northern Mountain in a sparkling, white blanket of bottomless powder.

Four decades of epic powder turns

Great Northern Snowcat Skiing is the world’s longest running owner-operated cat skiing outfit. We opened our doors in 1979. Since then, skiers have met us in the middle of the Selkirk Mountain wilderness for powder turns they never forget.
